Celeste and Inside are free on Epic Games Store next week

2018's best platformer Celeste is free on Epic Games Store from August 29. Also Inside.

Next week's free games on Epic Games Store are Celeste and Inside, beginning August 29.

The free games keep rolling through Epic Games Store, but this selection is one of the best freebies yet, as Celeste has been consistently regarded as one of the best games of 2018 since its release on January 25. That's not even that long ago, and now you can just...have it.

Celeste, for those unaware, is a slick platformer which challenges you to climb a mountain with a sparing number of abilities but a dizzying array of ways to use them in conjunction with each other, which leads to high-skill speedrunning or a simple challenge, depending how serious you want to take it.

As if that wasn't enough of a sweet deal, you'll also be able to snag Inside, the critically acclaimed follow up to Limbo from Playdead. The side-scrolling narrative-driven game is a mix of stealth, platforming and puzzle-solving.

If you haven't already, you can also pick up this week's free Epic Games Store title Fez, the ground-breaking indie game from 2012 which melds 2D and 3D spatial puzzles with platforming and an intriguing puzzle narrative.

So in the course of one week you can play three of the greatest puzzle platformers ever made. For free. You kids these days don't know how easy you've got it.

Celeste and Inside will be available for free through the Epic Games Store from August 29 onwards.
