Support relationships have always been a big part of the Fire Emblem series, but Fire Emblem: Three Houses takes it to the next level with lengthy relationships you can progress with a huge range of characters. You may or may not have picked a favorite student or character from the lengthy roster, but you’ll need to speak with romanceable characters often and even wine and dine them to have success here. This guide will help you find out all the romance options for both male and female Byleth in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

There are a huge number of choices for who you want to romance in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, provided you’re into the opposite sex (we'll get onto same-sex options later). Fully completing a romance with a character will not only raise your effectiveness with them on the battlefield, it’ll also unlock a special image to commemorate the relationship. Yes, Sothis is on the list and looks worrying like a child, but we’ve been told she has an adult form as well, though it still seems a bit weird to us!

To romance characters, you’ll need to raise their support rank with you. This can be done by speaking with them in the Monastery and picking options they approve of, fighting together on the battlefield, giving gifts and taking them out for meals or other activities. You can romance characters outside of your own house, but be warned that you cannot achieve S-Rank with the leaders of the house that you didn’t pick. Students aren’t the only options either, with several professors also available to date.

Same-sex relationships in Fire Emblem: Three Houses get a bit more tricky. Female Byleth has several options to pick from, but Male Byleth only has one real same-sex option. Lindhardt is the only male character who has a romantic end to the S-Rank support for Male Byleth. It’s possible to flirt with many other men, and even reach S-Rank with Alois and Gilbert, but the end of these relationships aren’t romantic in tone. Here’s the full list:

Female

  • Edelgard
  • Dorothea
