The decision to create a DLC skin for Sub Zero based on musician Dimitri Vegas is certainly a strange one. In case you were wondering, Dimitri Vegas is very much alive, so this isn’t some in memoriam tribute either. Instead, NetherRealm and WB simply want to thank Dimitri for all of his hard work in creating the music that served not only as the game’s soundtrack, but also the music for promotional trailers and videos.

In addition to being paid for his services, a “thank you” is coming in the form of a DLC skin for Sub Zero that’s free for all Mortal Kombat 11 players. While we don’t know what the final skin will look like, we do know that it’ll likely resemble Dimitri and is free to download starting AUgust 22.

Again, if you’re a completionist looking to collect every skin available in Mortal Kombat 11, be sure to get your free Dimitri Vegas DLC skin for Sub Zero starting August 22. While we wait for the final skin to be revealed, what are your thoughts? Are you a Sub Zero main who’s excited for a new skin, or are you waiting to see what the skin looks like before downloading?
