First, we can confirm that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order supports local co-op with you and up to three other people. It also offers online multiplayer in the event your friends aren’t available to drop by for a couch co-op session. With Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 being exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, the commands to begin local co-op should be fairly simple to master.

First, press the + button to pause the game. From the pause menu, simply choose “co-op” and then either “offline” or “local” depending on whether you’re playing from the same system, or using multiple Switch consoles. The most important thing to keep in mind is that if you’re playing offline, make sure you have all of the controllers you and your friends are using are properly connected beforehand as it’s a pain to have to back out and reconfigure them.

Alternatively, if you want to play with other people but don’t have access to other players in-person, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 offers an online multiplayer option. Similar to local co-op, you can access online multiplayer by pressing + on your Nintendo Switch controller to open the pause menu.

After selecting “co-op” you’re going to want to choose “online” from the list of modes. In online multiplayer you can either search for a game to join random people, create your own custom room and invite people, or join a room that you’ve been invited to.

Now that you know whether local co-op multiplayer is available in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, what do you think of the game so far? Are you enjoying it? Have you encountered any bugs?
