In Dragon Quest Builders 2 Explorer's Shores checklists give you something extra to do in between the main island missions you get sent off from the Isle of Awakening to do. The Explorer's Shores checklists send you to one of the Material Islands to track down a bunch of common and not-so-common resources that you might not encounter otherwise. When you complete a checklist on each Explorer's Shore island, you'll earn an unlimited supply of a building resource for your troubles, so they're well worth doing. Here's what's on each checklist for the Explorer's Shore islands, and what you get for completing them. We'll even let you know where to find some of the more difficult to discover items.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 Explorer's Shore Checklists
For each of the Explorer's Shore checklists you complete, you'll earn an unlimited supply of a building resource. Therefore finding all the blocks and items on each checklist is quite important if you want to go all out on making some of the more complex builds and Dragon Quest 2 room recipes. Here's a breakdown of all the Explorer's Shore checklists we've encountered so far, and some help with the harder items.
Soggy Skerry Checklist
Completing the first Soggy Skerry checklist will earn you an infinite supply of wood, and contains resources and items most likely to be found in grassy or rainforest biomes. A quick tip is that any of these checklists can be "cheated" if you just have one of the items already in your bag, just pull it out, place it on the ground and press the "Check!" button prompt to tick it off your checklist.
The first block can be quite difficult to find as it looks just like soil, but it is "Humus", which is the result of fertilizing standard earth. Either fertilize some earth or, if you don't want to waste fertilizer, look for patches of darker soil on earthy (rather than mossy) plateaus. The two types of each tree are simply Plumberry trees (greener, fresh looking) and the Tall Plumberry tree, which is slightly taller and larger. The yellowing trees are withered versions and grow on spoiled soil.
The first block in the second row that looks like a branch can give some people issues. It is the branch of one of those massive rainforest trees, it usually grows 4-5 blocks from the ground so climb up and check it off. The blue flower is a Hydrangea, you can find it growing on the side of grassy Earth blocks, there are plenty of tall cliffs of good earth dotted around.
Completing the second Soggy Skerry checklist will earn you an infinite supply of dry grass, and contains resources most likely to be found in bogs and spoiled earth areas. The three types of soil are quite abundant in various spoiled/bog biomes so keep running around until you find the right shade of muck. The item next to the reeds that looks like a hole in the soil is a spawn point for Iron Ants. Look around the bog areas, it is quite a large hole and covers about 4 squares surface area. It can be tricky to find but keep going and you'll find it. The vine leaves are specifically Dry Ivy so if you've found ivy but aren't able to check it, look around the area for a dried out version. The plant next to the pumpkin is the withered crops that grow (or rather died) on spoiled soil. Everything else on the Soggy Skerry checklist should be self explanatory if you've played through the Furrowfield story.
Blossom Bay Checklist
Completing the first Blossom Bay checklist will earn you an infinite supply of cord, and contains resources that are mostly found in meadow biomes. The different types of soil you must find are Earth and Grassy Earth, and then the indestructible rocks that you find all over Isle of Awakening. The flowers you need should be obvious from their colors, however the different between the two white Milkblossom flowers is that the second has butterflies near it.
Completing the second Blossom Bay checklist will earn you an infinite supply of grass fibre, and contains resources that are mostly found in river biomes. Again this features a tree and a tall tree of the same variety, so just look for that taller variation of the green-leafed tree. There is also another Iron Ant nest to find, this time made in earth rather than the spoiled soil of Soggy Skerry's bogs. The remaining plants and vegetables are quite easy to spot, the one next to Sugar Cane is Tall Grass, so look for it growing in grassy areas, obviously.
