Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has released a video celebrating its 25th anniversary as a games studio.
It's a little soppy in places - we wouldn't have gone with the whole "describe Crystal in one word" bit, personally - but it's also nice to see developers loving their work, and it's a welcome reminder of just how much good stuff this unassuming studio has put out since it was founded back in 1992.
"Crystal occupies a special place in the games industry. Over a third of our team have been with the studio for more than five years, and several have been here for more than 20 years, which makes us a tightly knitted team," said head of studio Ron Rosenberg.
"Over the years, many industry luminaries have worked at Crystal and contributed to the creative culture that our current rock star developers embody and evolve. From the very beginning, we’ve shared a common goal of crafting incredible character-driven games, and 25 years later that flame of innovation burns brighter than ever."
Crystal Dynamics' most recent release was Rise of the Tomb Raider, and it is currently working on an Avengers game in collaboration with Marvel. We're not sure whether it's the studio behind the new Tomb Raider game Square Enix mentioned recently, but for now we assume so.
And yes, it is a bit of a slow news day.
