How to swim in Cadence of Hyrule

Avoid drowning by picking up the Zora Flippers and learning how to swim in Cadence of Hyrule.

In Cadence of Hyrule, you’ll need to learn how to swim in order to avoid drowning in large bodies of water. While shallow bodies of water marked by light blue tiles can be crossed on foot, your character will cry out in peril after venturing into deeper water marked by navy blue tiles. This restriction can make crossing certain areas more challenging, though the good news is that an item exists that will help teach you how to swim.

Specifically, you’ll need to get your hands on the Zora Flippers in order to swim in Cadence of Hyrule. Confused? We’ve got you covered! Below, we’ll walk you through how to get the Zora Flippers and how to swim in Cadence of Hyrule!

As you play through Cadence of Hyrule, you’ll quickly realize that your character doesn’t have the ability to swim. Rather than ignore this and try to find ways around deeper bodies of water (as marked by navy blue tiles), it’s worth noting that an item exists that will actually let you swim through these areas in the game.

Known as the Zora Flippers, getting your hands on this item will help teach your character the crucial skill of swimming. To get the Zora Flippers, you’ll need visit the Grasslands, then find the Frozen Grotto. In this area, you’ll find the Cave of the Zora Prince. Inside, set off one of your bombs to reveal a ghost enemy. If you’re able to defeat this enemy, you’ll wake the Zora Prince.

Grateful for your service in waking him, the Zora Prince will reward you with a pair of Zora Flippers. With these items unlocked, you’ll be able to traverse deeper bodies of water without drowning and resetting back on dry land. This can make navigating through certain areas a lot easier, as you won’t have to find creative ways around water in order to get where you need to go.

Plus, with the added ability to swim, you’ll never need to watch your character drown after accidentally stepping into deep water. Trust us, it’s a pain!
