How to get Mana in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Keep those magic shard attacks flowing by learning how to get mana in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

A great deal of the fun in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is making use of the many weird and wonderfully deadly powers Miriam gains from the enemies she fights. All of these are extremely powerful but consume mana. The stronger the attack, the more mana it consumes, meaning you’ll soon find yourself running low if you spam your strong shard spells. Your mana will recharge slowly, but it’s a pain to wait around for it to come back. Thankfully it is possible to give your reserves a boost. Here’s how to get Mana in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

As stated above, your mana will slowly refill in increments of one, but when some attacks cost more than 80 mana to execute, you’ll want to get it back faster. The easiest way to do this is by breaking candles, torches or lanterns. If you’re less than full on your mana gauge, destroying a lantern or candle will drop a Mana Rose. These are glowing blue flowers that slowly drift to the floor. Each one you pick up will increase your mana store by a small percentage. It'll start at around 5, but as you level up and your total mana increases, the amount you'll gain from the Mana Roses will also increase.

That might not seem like a lot, but there are tons of lanterns and candles scattered across each region, so most of the time you can keep your mana reserves topped up simply by jumping and smashing them as you make your way through the map. Just make sure you’re using a regular attack that doesn’t consume mana to smash them or you’ll probably spend more than you gain. Lanterns and candles respawn when you move between rooms, so you don't need to worry about losing these reserves permanently either.

The next way to get Mana in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is by visiting a Save Room. These chambers will not only save your progress, they’ll also refill your health and mana reserves, making them the most efficient way of refilling the bar, provided you were nearby already. You can also increase your total mana reserves by equipping certain items and levelling up. The former can be found in chests and equipped in your inventory, while the latter will happen naturally as you fight your way through the many demonic enemies.

That’s all we know so far on how to get Mana in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but we’ll update this guide as we discover more options further into the game. For now, take a look at some of our other guides such as how to enable Japanese voices!
