New screenshots for Banjo-Kazooie and Dragon Quest Hero in Smash Ultimate have been released.
On Tuesday this week Nintendo produced the rare double whammy, sending Japanese audiences wild with the introduction of Dragon Quest Hero to Smash Ultimate, then following it up with Banjo-Kazooie to set Western fans’ hearts ablaze.
While we got a nice look at both of the characters in action during the Direct, there’s no such thing as too much Smash. The Dragon Quest Hero has been officially added to the Smash Bros Ultimate website with some images, but Banjo is still greyed out. Thankfully, Nintendo has thoughtfully released some extra screens of both characters on their Japanese website.
The new Smash Ultimate screenshots include some high-quality renders of the Dragon Quest Hero cast, and we also get a glimpse of one of Banjo-Kazooie’s alternate skins, which is giving off a decidedly Care Bear vibe.
Look a bit closer to the images of the Banjo-Kazooie level and you’ll spot not only Gruntilda, but Mumbjo Jumbo too. What effect will they have on the stage. We’ll have to wait and see! Here’s hoping Gruntilda has an insulting rhyme for each of the characters.
The Dragon Quest Hero will be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in Summer 2019, as part of Fighter Pass 1 or purchasable separately. Banjo-Kazooie will be coming in Fall 2019, also as part of Fighter Pass 1 or purchasable separately. Both characters will come with their own stages, complete with excellent music. If you haven’t already checked out the Banjo-Kazooie music released by Grant Kirkhope, do yourself a favor.
