Pokemon Sword and Shield will be playable at E3

Games like Link's Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and Pokemon Sword and Shield will all be playable at E3 2019.

In a press release from Nintendo, games that will be available to demo at E3 2019 were revealed, including Pokemon Sword and Shield. Following this week’s exciting Pokemon Direct, Nintendo will undoubtedly be swamped with people at E3 all looking to learn more about Sword and Shield. For those uninterested in Pokemon, Link’s Awakening, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will also be playable at E3.

As of right now, it’s unclear how much gameplay for Pokemon Sword and Shield will be shown at E3 2019. Will gamers get to start at the beginning, select one of the three new starter Pokemon, and explore parts of the Galar region? Will they have the opportunity to experience the new Dynamax mechanic? Anything is possible.

Given our experience with game demos at events like E3, gamers should expect a more limited look at Pokemon Sword and Shield, like playing the opening 15-30 minutes of the game. Along with Pokemon Sword and Shield, games like Luigi’s Mansion 3, Link’s Awakening, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will also be available to demo.

Whether you’re a huge Pokemon fan, Zelda fan, or curious about the newest Luigi’s Mansion title, Nintendo has a lot to offer at E3 2019. One thing we have questions about is whether Animal Crossing will be present for demo, or will be limited to a trailer in Nintendo’s E3 presentation? Given that Animal Crossing isn’t mentioned with the games available for demo, the latter options seems to be the case.

Overall, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for more Animal Crossing news at E3 2019, and look forward to seeing what Nintendo has to offer gamers on the show floor. As we get closer to E3, what are you hoping for? Will you be watching Nintendo’s livestream for a new Animal Crossing trailer? Let us know down in the comments below!
