The Nintendo Switch has sold over 10m units in nine months

Wahoo!

Nintendo has sold over 10m units of Switch consoles in nine months.

It’s an impressive opening for Nintendo’s latest console, pushed forward by a continued excellent release schedule containing games like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, as well as a good handful of indie titles.

The figure sets the Switch up to dwarf the sales of their previous home console the WiiU, which sold just 13.56m over five years.

The Switch still has a long way to go to catch the Wii, which sold over 100m units in its lifetime, but it's hard to see this launch as anything but a resounding and well-deserved success for Nintendo.
