Resident Evil HD Remaster isn’t broken into linear story chapters like most games. Instead, you’ll spend most of your time exploring the Spencer mansions, collecting different key items that slowly open up more areas and tools. The pace you’ll do this at will depend largely on how good you are at navigating back and forth across the mansion, avoiding zombies, and how scary you find the game in general. Your completion time will vary a great deal depending on these factors. However, according to howlongtobeat, most players take around 10-11 hours to complete their first run at the main story. If you spend a bit more time grabbing weapons and saving some other characters, that can push up to 15 or higher.

There are a good deal of optional tasks to complete during Resident Evil Hd Remaster if you want to collect all the guns and save everyone. Plus, you’ll need to play the game through at least twice (once as Jill and once as Chris) if you want to unlock everything. Those going for a Completionist run should therefore expect to put in a greater number of hours. Typically, a full completion run will take between 25-30 hours, depending on your skill in the game.

Resident Evil is well known in the speedrunning community. Once you know the key items and where to find them, it’s possible to race through the game much, much faster. A second playthrough aimed at rushing through can cut completion time down to under 4 hours, while the best of the best have finished in in just over an hour and a half.

To recap, here’s how long it’ll take to beat Resident Evil HD Remaster:

  • Average: 10-15 hours
  • Completionist: 25-30 hours
  • Speedy: 2-4 hours (once you know what you’re doing)
