There are three main types of collectible in A Plague Tale Innocence but, along with Hugo’s Herbarium, Gifts hold the most value in the game’s narrative. Each item you find will have value to one of the game’s cast, and Amicia will often comment on who she’s collecting the Gift for. Later in the game you’ll even have the chance to admire the Gifts you’ve collected on a nice table at the gang’s temporary home. These collectibles are often well-hidden, so in this guide we’ll take you through where to find all Gift locations in A Plague Tale: Innocence.
All Gift locations in A Plague Tale: Innocence
There are a total of 11 Gifts to collect in A Plague Tale: Innocence, and there’s never more than one to collect per Chapter. We’ve split the guide below by Chapter, providing details on where to find each Gift with the level. As with the other collectibles, you don’t need to complete the Chapter or even survive after collecting the Gift, so once you’ve found it and aren’t looking for Hugo’s Herbarium or Curiosities, feel free to quit the Chapter if you’ve already played it.
If you haven’t finished A Plague Tale: Innocence yet, be wary of reading too far as this guide contains spoilers for the later stages of the game. With that warning out of the way, here’s where to find all Gift locations in A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Chapter 1: Whistle
When you first arrive at Amicia’s estate, turn right and head to the barn where a man if forking some hay. He’ll speak to Amicia, but we’re interested in the upper levels of the barn behind him. Climb the ladder in the last section of the barn and you’ll find the Whistle on a shelf.
Chapter 2: Amulets and talismans
At the start of the Chapter you’ll approach some market stalls and buildings outside of the town’s main stone gate. Turn right before the first stall and walk along the back of it to the river. Behind the building here there’s a small wooden jetty poking out over the river. Walk onto it to find the Gift.
Chapter 3: Rosary
The third Gift in A Plague Tale: Innocence can be obtained at the very beginning of Chapter 3. At the start of the chapter you’ll find yourself in a church. Walk to the end right to the far end (you’ll need to wait for Hugo to light a candle), then turn right. You’ll see a candlelit surface on the left wall with the Rosary resting on top of it. The path forwards is at the other end of the church, so it’s certainly possible to miss this Gift.
Chapter 4: Diary of an alchemist
You’ll find this Gift in the second area of this chapter, right as you reach the crop field that Hugo runs off into. Instead of following, turn right and walk to the water’s edge where you’ll find a boat with the dead body of a young alchemist. The diary and some crafting ingredients will be with him. Be careful not to walk too far forward through the fields or you’ll alert enemies on the way.
Chapter 5: Ballastella (Jacob’s staff)
One of the easiest gifts to miss, this can be found shortly after Lucas teaches you how to make Somnum to take out guards. Have Lucas lower and release the lit trebuchet so that Amicia and Hugo can cross to the torch on the platform. Light the torch on the other side of the gate and have Hugo bring you a stick.
Now, turning to face away from the grate, light the stick and walk forwards, dropping off the platform. There’s a section behind the small wall in front which contains a campfire you can light and the Ballastella Gift. You’ll need to head directly there as the stick will only last just enough time to light the campfire. Don’t worry, there are also more sticks here to get you back.
Chapter 6: Knucklebones
After Amicia and Hugo are captured and Amicia is let out of the cage by the siblings. Follow the young woman Melie through the camp and through the tents until you pass the sleeping guards (watch out for the bottles). Instead of following her forward and right, turn to the left. The knucklebones are on the right side of the large dining table ahead.
Be careful as there is a patrolling guard to the left. Wait for him to turn away before sneaking to the table and grabbing the Gift. There are also some crafting materials and a Tool on the well further to the right. You may need to make two runs to collect them all without the guard seeing.
Chapter 7: Vinegar of the four thieves
After you solve the first rat puzzle in which you push hanging braziers, you’ll open a door and see the castle ahead of you. Follow the slope along the cliff’s edge, then turn left and take the path backwards. You’ll find the ruins of a house here but the door will be locked. Have Melie pick the lock for the door and you’ll find this Gift sitting on the table inside.
Chapter 8: Alchemical crucible
After Hugo leads you to Lucas and you help him with an experiment, return to the sleeping room. Take the door in the opposite corner (where Hugo leads) and look left directly after walking through. The gift will be lying in the plants here. Make sure you’ve also collected the Curiosity in the doorway you came from as well.
Chapter 9: Chessboard
As you approach the University Building at the end of the chapter, two guards will walk off to the right. They’ll stop by a table with this Gift on in an alcove. You may be able to distract them with a pot, but we found it easiest to take them both out. From the other side of the street (in the passage with the door), aim a slingshot at the torch holding guard. With him down, hide in the alleyway until the other guard stops searching, then use Devorantis to knock his helmet off before taking him out with a rock. Once they’re both down, walk over and collect the Gift.
Chapter 10: Reading stone
After you re-enter the university with Roderic and gain the ability to take down guards, you’ll enter a room with a single, shielded guard. Distract him and have Roderic take him out from behind, then move to the back right corner of the room to find this Gift.
Chapter 12: Calamus
On the path back to your family estate, you’ll pass by a small building where a locked gate stops you from progressing. There are a few torches in this area and a lot of rats inside the small stone house with a thatched roof. If you already lit the campfire in front of the house, douse it while standing under the lit beacon further back. Now use Odoris nearby to lure all of the rats out from the house. Once they’re clear, relight the fire to protect the entrance. You can now enter the house by crouching through the doorway. The Gift is located on the table inside next to some crafting ingredients.
You’ve now learned all Gift locations in A Plague Tale: Innocence, but there are many more collectibles to find. If you’re hoping to keep Hugo happy then you should definitely read our guide to all Hugo’s Herbarium locations in A Plague Tale Innocence.Load Comments
