The PlayStation Plus games that subscribers will gain access to in May have been revealed as What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked.
The Xbox Games with Gold lineup for May was pretty disappointing, but Sony’s excellent selection should put a smile on PlayStation 4 owners’ faces. What Remains of Edith Finch is a brilliant example of just how creative games can be as a storytelling medium. Returning to your family home, you explore the ramshackle house to discover the diaries of your ancestors and experience their untimely deaths at the hands of the curse said to afflict them. You’re better off going into it knowing as little as possible, but we can say for certain that it’s an unmissable experience.
Overcooked put Ghost Town Games on the map with its chaotic and cooperative chef-em-up gameplay. Actions are simple, with chopping veg, cooking rice and frying meat all completed with a simple set of button presses. The challenge comes in mastering the increasingly wild levels which see you delivering orders in the air, on ice and even in space! Aiming for that three-star ranking is incredibly addictive, and your group will likely keep going back for just one more run at each level. Topping that all off with a wholesome sense of humor and free DLC turns Overcooked into one of the finest co-op games out there.
To get access to Overcooked and What Remains of Edith Finch you’ll need to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber. New games are added each month for PSPlus subscribers If registered you’ll be able to download the games for free from the PlayStation Store.
