Free Days Gone DLC plans revealed, including a brutal new Survival mode

Whether you're looking for new ways to enjoy the open-world of Days Gone, or are looking to test those survival skills, Days Gone will have it all.

We're just a few more days away from being able to take to the open-world zombie adventures that the PlayStation 4 exclusive Days Gone will have to offer, but it looks like the journey will be just beginning when the game finally launches.

Sony just revealed their free DLC plans for the upcoming zombie title, including a brutally unforgiving new Survival difficulty mode that is meant to challenge even the most seasoned gamer. You thought zombies were bad - wait until those danger levels are amped up by several hundred notches.

"Whether playing Easy, Normal, or Hard mode you can expect a game that challenges your survival skills across a 30+ hour golden path and many more hours of open world hordes, ambush camps, infestation zones, mysterious NERO checkpoints, and dynamic events in the post-apocalyptic Oregon setting," reads the latest official PlayStation Blog post.

According to the team over at Bend Studio, the new Survival difficulty mode will challenge players to take on the game's story under even more dire circumstances. WIth fast travel disabled, a new Survival Visionl, and a revamped HUD that removes maps and all indicators - Survival will make the player earn the right to call themselves a true survivor.

The studio also outlined their free DLC plans for June including new Bike, Horde, and Combat challenge plans. These additions are meant to take what was already offered in Days Gone and make it even better, adding unique ways for players to take on this gritty world while earning new rewards and unlocking a few new trophies along the way.

Days Gone officially releases exclusively for PlayStation 4 gamers on April 26th.

With an arguably unhealthy obsession with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, Liana is wildly passionate about all things in the gaming community. From shooters, to RPGs, if it's out - she's playing it.
