In Mortal Kombat 11, there are difficulty settings which include Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Very Hard. These difficulty settings are important if you plan to make your way through the story mode in Mortal Kombat 11. At the beginning of the game, you’ll be able to pick from these difficulty settings, though you have the ability to go back and tweak the difficulty setting should you find the one you choose to be too easy, or too hard.

The default difficulty setting for Mortal Kombat 11 is Medium, which feels suitable for most gamers. We recommend starting at Medium as you acclimate to the game, then switching the difficulty setting depending on your performance. Changing the difficulty settings in Mortal Kombat 11 is pretty straightforward, though it can only be done by backing out to the main menu.

Once in the main menu, pick the Konquer story mode. Next, in the Chapter Select area, pick the chapter you left off on. Before you dive into this chapter, hit X on Xbox One or Square on PlayStation 4 to open the Story Settings menu. Scroll until you find the difficulty setting, then tweak based on your preference.

For example, if you started on Medium and found it to be too easy, you can bump things up to Very Hard. Alternatively, if you’re unable to complete the first chapter, you can always lower the settings to Easy or Very Easy.
