In Mortal Kombat 11, one thing players will immediately notice is the lack of a manual save option. With this in mind, Mortal Kombat 11 saves your progress automatically. The autosave function works similarly to other games with this feature in that your progress will be saved after you complete actions such as finish a fight, end a chapter, etc.

With that in mind, you shouldn’t end your game abruptly as there’s no way to ensure all of your progress has been saved. Instead, ending your game after you finish a chapter or major fight is typically the best way to go. You can also quit the game “correctly” by hitting Menu on Xbox One or Options on PlayStation 4 to open the menu.

In the menu, look for the option to “Quit Game” and choose it to return back to the main menu. This action should also help you save your game’s progress. When you return to continue working through the story mode, you should be able to jump right back into the chapter you ended on with all of your progress saved.

The worst possible scenario in the event you don’t save properly, or you lose power, you’ll simply have to begin at the start of the last chapter you unlocked, meaning you should never have to start all over from scratch at the very least.
