In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, one important stat you’ll want to learn how to increase is your Skill Level. As noted above, Skill Level dictates whether or not you can use and equip Skill Mods. The higher your Skill Level, the better the Skill Mods you’ll be able to equip. Because Skill Mods can offer useful buffs, it’s well worth increasing your Skill Level in order to expand the Skill Mods that are available to you.

To check to see what your current Skill Power is, you’ll need to hit Menu on Xbox One or Options on PlayStation 4. From there, choose the Character Option, then look at the left portion of your screen. Near your Armor and Health Stats, you’ll find your Skill Power level. If this number is lower than 10, we highly recommend you set aside the time to increase it.

As for how you can increase your Skill Power, this number is based on the sort of gear you have equipped, with many gear pieces offering bumps to your overall Skill Power level. While playing The Division 2, keep an eye out for gear that offers buffs to your Skill Power, as you’ll want to have at least a few pieces equipped that improve your Skill Power.

Again, if your Skill Power level is lower than 10, we highly recommend swapping some of your gear around in order to bump it up. When your Skill Power is higher than 10, you’ll have access to better Skill Mod options. Along with being able to pick up gear that adds to your Skill Power naturally, you can also visit Vendors and purchase gear that offers Skill Power boosts.
