As noted above, you’ll first need to unlock all of the Super Alternate Costumes for each of the game’s playable characters before you’re able to get your hands on the Infinite Devil Trigger ability in Devil May Cry 5. To get the Super Alternate Costumes, you’ll need to beat the full game on the “Dante Must Die” difficulty setting.

Note that the Dante Must Die setting only becomes available after you’ve completed Devil May Cry 5 on either the Son of Sparda or Devil Hunter difficulty levels. Yes, you need to complete the Devil May Cry 5 campaign on Devil Hunter or Son of Sparda, then on the Dante Must Die setting, in order to get the Super Alternate Costumes required to unlock the Infinite Devil Trigger ability.

Aside from being somewhat time-consuming, completing the game several times over can be a difficult task for many casual gamers. Of course, the benefit of beating the game on Devil Hunter or Son of Sparda means you’ll be well-versed in Devil May Cry 5 when it comes time to tackle the game’s punishing Dante Must Die difficulty setting.

With all of the Super Alternate Costumes unlocked, you’ll need to equip them to each character including Nero, V, and Dante. By equipping these Super Alternate Costumes, you’ll be able to unlock the optional “Infinite Devil Trigger” ability. What is the Infinite Devil Trigger ability? Well, it’s exactly what its name suggests, as it makes it so that you’re able to use each character’s special ability without first having to charge it up.

With special abilities always available, you should have no difficulty breezing through every enemy and boss you encounter. The catch is that when you play with the Infinite Devil Trigger ability enabled, your rank drops by 80% which dramatically reduces the number of Red Orbs and awards you can earn.

Because the Infinite Devil Trigger ability only becomes available after several completions of the campaign, this shouldn’t impact you too much. Although, if there are Skills you need a considerable amount of Red Orbs to unlock, you may want to hold off on equipping your Super Alternate costumes until you're ready to work with the Infinite Devil Trigger ability.

To recap, you’ll need to unlock all Super Alternate Costumes in Devil May Cry 5 and equip them in order to unlock the Infinite Devil Trigger ability. To get these Super Alternate Costumes, you’ll need to beat the game on Devil Hunter or Son of Sparda, then on the Dante Must Die difficulty setting. By unlocking and using the Infinite Devil Trigger ability, you’ll be able to use each character’s special ability without first having to charge it.

On the flip side, doing this dramatically reduces your rank by 80% which can impact your ability to earn Red Orbs in Devil May Cry 5.
