The first thing Destiny 2 players want to know is what a Sentry Synth is. In Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter, a Sentry Synth is one of four different synth types that players can earn, with each synth type serving its own unique purpose in regards to unlocking pieces of the Gambit Prime armor set.

To get a Sentry Synth, you’ll want to participate in special game modes including The Reckoning and Gambit Prime. For example, a Sentry Synth can come in the form of a random drop after completing a match in The Reckoning, or as a reward for completing special Gambit Prime bounties.

Once you have a Sentry Synth in your inventory, you’ll want to activate it with the Weak Synthesizer. In doing so, you’ll craft a mote which can then be used to activate The Reckoning game mode. For more on how to get a Weak Synthesizer in Destiny 2, be sure to check out our previous guide.

Synths, including the Sentry Synth, are key when it comes to earning gear, including pieces of the Gambit Prime armor set. The more Sentry Synths you earn, the more likely you are to earn desirable pieces of gear in Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter.
