In Dead or Alive 6, knowing how to Block is as important as knowing how to launch a barrage of attacks. Using the Block mechanic, you’ll be able to reduce the amount of damage you take during a match. Using Block in Dead or Alive 6 is relatively straightforward in that it can be done by holding the back direction, or using X on Xbox One and Square on PlayStation for in order to use a Guard.

Keep in mind that Guards are only efficient in response to mid and high directional attacks. For low attacks, you’ll need to press and hold down and back on your d-pad, or hold down and X on Xbox One and Square on PlayStation 4. By incorporating the “down” direction, you’ll be able to defend yourself against low attacks. In addition to Block, you can also incorporate Counters to deal with enemy attacks.
