Will we learn more about Death Stranding at The Game Awards?

With Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro both presenting, we just might.

Update: Now it turns out Norman Reedus, who plays the main character in Death Stranding, will also be presenting an award.

Original story: We're not usually given to this kind of hopeful speculation, but there isn't much else to write about at this time of year, so we'll give this one a go: Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are presenting an award together at The Game Awards on Thursday night, and it's got the internet wondering whether they will also show a bit more of Death Stranding.

Death Stranding, of course, is the first game from the new Kojima Productions - not to be confused with the Kojima Productions that Hideo Kojima ran during his lengthy career at former publisher Konami. So far all we've seen of Death Stranding is a couple of enigmatic trailers, and it's been a while since the last one.

Given that we know Kojima likes to keep the hype building for his games, the fact Guillermo del Toro is a confirmed collaborator on Death Stranding - one of the characters is based on him, as you can see in the second trailer - and Kojima's famous closeness with The Game Awards impresario Geoff Keighley, we wouldn't be surprised.

Oh, and the last trailer was released around this time last year - at The Game Awards.

We certainly hope we get to see more, because after the incredible quality of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, we're desperate to see what Kojima has planned.
