Metro Exodus gets new release date

Not only has Metro Exodus gone gold, but its release date has been moved up by a week.

Today, developer 4A Games announced that Metro Exodus has officially gone gold. What’s more, the game’s release date has now been pushed up by a full week.

Metro Exodus Will Release on February 15, 2019

Metro Exodus features a nuclear winter landscape full of hostile, mutated enemies
Metro Exodus is now scheduled to release on February 15, 2019.

Originally scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 22, Metro Exodus is now set to launch on February 15, 2019. Whether or not 4A Games did this to avoid competing with Anthem which also releases on February 22 remains to be seen. Instead of Anthem, Metro Exodus will now release at the same time as Far Cry New Dawn.

While Far Cry New Dawn also boasts a post-apocalyptic theme, the two games couldn’t be more different. In Metro Exodus, players will explore a wintery, Russian wasteland full of mutated creatures. Set after Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, Metro Exodus will continue the story of Artyom as he heads east.

On Twitter, the title sequence scored by composer Alexey Omelchuk was shared, further hyping fans for the game’s upcoming release which is only a few short months away. The title sequence is melodic and haunting, highlighting the harsh winter landscape players can expect when they jump into the game on its new release date of February 15.
