In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, one character players have been wondering how to get is Piranha Plant. Announced as a pre-ordered bonus, Piranha Plant is an exclusive DLC character that can be unlocked in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

How to Get Piranha Plant in Smash Bros. Ultimate

To get Piranha Plant in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you’ll need to purchase a copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before the cutoff date of January 31, 2019. To unlock Piranha Plant, you’ll need to select the + sign on your Joy-Con controller while viewing the Home screen in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

After that, select “My Nintendo Rewards” then register your game. Next, check your email for the download code that unlocks Piranha Plant. If you purchased a digital copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you won’t need to run through the steps above. Instead, you’ll get an email from Nintendo after you purchase the game digitally with information on how to download and unlock Piranha Plant.

Note that you’ll need to activate and use your code to unlock Piranha Plant before June 30, 2019. If for whatever reason you miss either of the cutoff dates listed above, you’ll be happy to hear that Nintendo has noted that Piranha Plant will be available to all Super Smash Bros. Ultimate owners starting January 29, 2019 (see update patch notes).
