After Joker from Persona 5 was announced as DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, people have been asking how to get Joker in the game. Right now, we don’t have much to go on outside the reveal trailer and the information attached to it.

During The Game Awards 2018, it was revealed that Joker will be the first DLC character available for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As of right now, the Challenger Pack DLC 1 which includes Joker is not available, and no release date for the expansion has been announced. When it’s released, it’ll cost $5.99 (USD) and will be available for a separate purchase.
To get Joker, you’ll need to purchase the Challenger Pack DLC 1 through the Nintendo eShop. Other DLC expansions will be released in 2019, though the characters included in those expansions have yet to be named. A Fighter Pass bundle option will later be available for purchase at $24.99 (USD) that includes access to each DLC expansion upon release.
Each DLC pack will be priced the same at $5.99 (USD), meaning the Fighter Pass saves you around $5. Overall, it’s a solid option if you plan on purchasing all of the expansions and don’t want to pay separately each time. Another thing to note is that each DLC pack will include a special stage based on the character it includes.
For example, not only will the Challenger Pack DLC 1 include Joker, it’ll also offer a Persona-themed stage. We’re not sure what else the expansion will include (Assist Trophies, Spirits, etc.), so be sure to check back as we’ll update this guide as more information becomes available.
