December's PS Plus games include SOMA and Onrush

A solid way to wrap up the year.

The PlayStation Plus games for the month of December have officially been revealed. Headed by racing game Onrush and indie horror SOMA, PS Plus subscribers definitely have a well-rounded batch of content to end the year with. First, Onrush is a racing game from Codemasters with a unique twist.

Rather than compete over who can cross the finish line first, Onrush pits players against one another in vehicle vs. vehicle combat. The vehicles themselves are primarily off-road in style, all designed to traverse difficult terrain. If you’ve been feeling burned out by racers lately, we definitely recommend giving Onrush a try. After all, it’s free this month with PS Plus!

On the complete opposite end of the Onrush spectrum, you have indie horror SOMA. Born from Frictional Games – the twisted minds behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent – SOMA drags players deep beneath the sea to a research facility called Pathos-2. Inside Pathos-2, you’ll find machinery and tech that have begun to adopt "human" characteristics.

For us, playing SOMA felt a little bit like stepping into the works of artist H.R. Geiger. Aesthetic aside, the story of SOMA itself is extremely well-written and will keep you hooked until the very end. Wondering what’s on offer for PS3 and PS Vita owners? Below, we’ve included the full list of PS Plus games on offer for the month of December!

  • SOMA - PS4
  • Onrush - PS4
  • Steredenn - PS3
  • Steinsgate - PS3
  • Iconoclasts - PS Vita (Cross-Buy with PS4)
  • Papers, Please - PS Vita

December’s PS Plus games will be available starting December 4 and can be redeemed all the way up until January 1. Right now, there’s a small window of time left to download November’s PS Plus games which include Yakuza Kiwami and Bulletstorm. So, what do you think of the December PS Plus games? Are you excited to try Onrush, or are you looking to get spooked by playing SOMA? Let us know down in the comments below!
