How long does it take to beat Red Dead Redemption 2?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is massive, but exactly how long does it take to beat Rockstar's latest Wild West adventure?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the latest open-world title to take the gaming world by storm. In fact, Rockstar’s cowboy clobbering franchise has never been better. The Wild West is as stunningly beautiful as it is brutal and exploring Red Dead Redemption 2’s vast world can quickly rob you of your time. Even the game’s solo campaign requires a lengthy time investment. Here's everything you need to know about how long it takes to beat Red Dead Redemption 2.

How long is Red Dead Redemption 2?

Recent reports have stated that Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player campaign should take 60 hours to complete. However, those that are looking to complete the game’s numerous side quests, activities, collectibles, and online multiplayer can expect to spend well over 100 hours. According to an interview with producer Dan Houser, the final script for Red Dead Redemption 2 spans 2,000 pages and would stack up to around eight feet tall if you included all the extra content like hunting, gambling, and general exploration. There’s certainly enough cowboy content to keep you busy for many an hour!

Of course, there's also the highly-anticipated Red Dead Online that will launch later in November. Red Dead Redemption 2’s online multiplayer will offer countless hours of fast-paced gun-toting action, so be ready to spend a few hundred hours testing your trigger finger against the world’s best marksman. In addition, creating your very own avatar and outfitting them with the most badass gear will also take a considerable amount of time, especially if you like to look good while beating your opponents.

Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t a short game by any means and you can easily expect to drop at least 60 hours into the single-player campaign, while general exploration and online features will keep you coming back well after its completion. Be sure to saddle up and sit comfy as it’s going to be a long ride.
