Patience is a virtue, and when it comes to attacking an enemy compound in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, certain times of day are better than others. Thankfully, Odyssey sees the return of the time skip feature, letting you pass time until you're ready to roll once more. In this guide we'll teach you how to pass time by waiting in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
How to pass time by waiting in Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Activating the wait mechanic to pass time is really simple in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. All you need to do is press the View button on your Xbox One controller, or hold the touchpad on your PS4 controller. PC just need to hit the M key by default. Doing this will start a short cutscene in which the sun soars through the sky, shifting the time by roughly half a day, making it night if it was day before, or vice versa. Presumably Kassandra or Alexios use this time to perform their best meditating Geralt impression, though they certainly don't have any potions to replenish.
This is a handy trick if you're exploring during the day but prefer to take on enemy encampments at night. Just remember that you can't meditate while in combat or dangerous areas. Pick a safe spot near to your target then hit the appropriate button to pass time. No sleeping next to bears now y'hear? The mythological Ancient Greek variety are even more dangerous than the ones in The Witcher 3!
In all honesty, there's never really much need to use this feature in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, but it's a lovely one to have nonetheless. The option to skip forward half a day is especially useful when playing around with the game's Photo Mode as it makes it much easier to take impressive shots at the time of day you're aiming for.
That's all there really is to know on the passing time mechanic, so feel free to get out there and start exploring! Or you could read up on some of our other guides. For example, over here you can learn how to craft arrows, or in this guide you can learn how to unlock fast travel.
