Mojang announces Minecraft Dungeons

Multiplayer action adventure coming in 2019.

There's a new Minecraft game, called Minecraft Dungeons, coming in 2019. Mojang made the annoucement during Minecon over the weekend.

What is Minecraft Dungeons? It's a tribute to old-fashioned dungeon crawling action adventure games, developed as a passion project by a small team within Mojang. You'll be able to play solo, or with up to four players, collecting weapons and fighting against monster mobs.

Here's Mojang's official synopsis: "You’ll fight or flee through canyons, swamps and – of course – mines! You can brave the dungeons alone, or team up with friends. Up to four players can battle together through action-packed, treasure-stuffed, wildly varied levels, all in an epic quest to save the villagers and take down the evil Arch-Illager!"

And here's the trailer.

The game has only been announced for PC so far, but given how Minecraft has colonized pretty much every gaming platform on the planet we'd be amazed if Dungeons doesn't end up available everywhere before long.

Dan has been playing games since the 1980s, and doesn't plan on stopping any time soon. Also, get off his lawn. You can contact him by email if you need to know exactly how to leave his lawn.
