If you got an “at capacity” message while trying to load into Destiny 2: Forsaken, you’re not alone. Many Destiny 2 players have received this exact same message. What does “at capacity” mean? In a nutshell, the “at capacity” message means that Destiny 2’s servers are full, preventing additional gamers from joining.

Another issue Destiny 2 players have been experiencing recently centers around the inability to purchase the standalone Forsaken expansion on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. When attempting to purchase the DLC, Destiny 2 players are given a message that they already own the DLC. Bungie is actively looking into this issue, however it’s important to note that it’s a separate issue from the “at capacity” message players have been receiving.

To deal with the “at capacity” message in Destiny 2, you can visit Bungie’s Server Help page to view the current status of the game’s servers and scheduled maintenance periods. Additionally, you can view the Down Detector page for Destiny 2 to see how many players have reported server outages over the past few days.

If you’re still experiencing the “at capacity” message even though servers are up and no maintenance is scheduled, the best advice we can give is to remain patient. Bungie is working to handle the server overload following the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, so if you’re unable to access the game right now, wait a few hours and try again.

Note that it’s not uncommon for a game like Destiny 2 to experience server issues following the release of a highly anticipated expansion, like Forsaken.
