How long will it take to complete Sony's new Spider-Man game?

Here's how much free time you're going to need.

We're now only a few days away from the new Spider-Man game swinging onto PS4, and developer Insomniac Games has been active on social media answering important last minute questions from fans. Key among these is how long the game will last - are we looking at an eight hour story mode sprint, or a 50 hour marathon?

The answer, according to Insomniac, is somewhere in between.

That's Insomniac's Community Director James Stevenson putting a rough 20-hour figure on the game, Bear in mind, that's just for beating the game's core story missions. You can play for a lot longer depending on how many side quests and optional activities you indulge in while superheroing your way around Manhattan.

Also revealed was news that there will be a Day One patch, and that you're probably going to want to clear at least 45Gb of space on your PS4 hard drive to store the full game.

Spider-Man launches on September 7 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
