PUBG leaving Early Access on Xbox One

The full release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox One is coming this September.

In an exciting announcement at this year’s Gamescom, developer PUBG Corp. revealed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will officially leave Early Access on Xbox One as of September 4. In addition to the game’s official release, features including War Mode and the Sanhok map are being added to the Xbox One version of PUBG via the 1.0 update.

Whether the Sanhok map will release in full or as a test version has yet to be clarified. However, September 4’s departure from Early Access marks the first time that Sanhok will be available to Xbox One players. The same can be said for War Mode. As many PC players can attest, War Mode is a popular PUBG staple that adds team deathmatch aspects such as respawns to the game’s standard battle royale fare.

Wondering whether new cosmetic items will be available for purchase after the game’s full release? While “new” cosmetic items have yet to be revealed, PUBG Corp. did announce that purchasable in-game currency will be added in the 1.0 update. Using this currency, players can “unlock” cosmetic items of their choice in PUBG.

To commemorate the launch of Sanhok on Xbox One, an Event Pass for will also be available for purchase that includes various cosmetic items. With this information, it stands to reason that Xbox One players can expect even more cosmetic drops in PUBG in the months after the game releases from Early Access.

Additionally, PUBG Corp. has noted that they will “continue to enhance the game and deliver new content to Xbox players.” PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will release in full on Xbox One as of September 4.
