When does the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta start?

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta schedule was announced by Treyarch today, with PS4 owners getting first dibs on trying out the game's multiplayer beta.

Ever since it was announced back in May, gamers have been wondering when the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta period will begin. Activision and Treyarch have made it clear they want to give Call of Duty players two unique beta opportunities to test Black Ops 4 prior to the game’s release.

First, a multiplayer beta for Black Ops 4’s competitive modes will kick off this August. Then, a second beta for the new battle royale-themed Blackout mode will begin this September. As for specific dates and times, Treyarch revealed these today to help give Call of Duty fans time to prepare.

PlayStation 4 owners will be able to try out the Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta first starting August 3. A week after that, the Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta will be available across all platforms including PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC (through Battle.net). When Does the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta Start?

Today, Treyarch shared the complete Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta schedule. As stated above, PlayStation 4 owners will get to try out the Black Ops 4 beta first on August 3, while other platforms will have to wait until August 10. Additionally, PC users will only be able to access the beta through Battle.net so if you don’t have this downloaded, we recommend doing so before August 11.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta Schedule

  • PlayStation 4: August 3 at 10 a.m. (PST) - August 6 at 10 a.m. (PST)
  • PlayStation 4 and Xbox One: August 10 at 10 a.m. (PST) - August 13 at 10 a.m. (PST)
  • PC Beta Early Access (Exclusively on Battle.net): August 10 at 10 a.m. (PST)
  • PC Open Beta: August 11 at 10 a.m. (PST) - August 13 at 10 a.m. (PST)

As for what you can expect from the Black Ops 4 beta, the multiplayer beta itself will include various Specialists to try out along with six different maps. Additionally, five game modes (Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Control, Search & Destroy) will be available in the multiplayer beta.

Right now, specifics on the Blackout beta have yet to be released by Activision and Treyarch so stay tuned for more information within the next week or so. In the meantime, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12.
