Warframe is headed to Nintendo Switch

Take the free-to-play sci-fi shooter on the go.

Digital Extremes, the studio behind popular free-to-play multiplayer shooter Warframe, has announced that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch. There's even a trailer to prove it.

The news dropped at TennoCon 2018, the third official annual convention for fans of the title. The port is being handled by Panic Button, the developer that also tackled impressive Switch conversions for DOOM, Wolfenstein and Rocket League.

In the game, you take on the role of a Tenno warrior, an ancient order of protectors clad in gnarly Warframe armor. Together with others, you are awoken from cryo-sleep to keep the solar system safe from alien aggressors. There are 35 armor types to use in the game, as well as hundreds of weapons. You can join clans, and even have pets.

There's no release date set for Warframe's Switch version, but it seems like we won't have long to wait.
