When it comes to picking the best starter Pokémon in Pokémon Quest, it all boils down to how you plan to play. If hard-hitting attacks are more your style, the Pokémon with the highest attack power right out of the gate is Pikachu. Meanwhile, if you prefer to play defensively, the best Pokémon defense stats are held by Bulbasaur with the highest HP and the ability to heal during battle.

In our personal opinion, the best starter Pokémon to choose in Pokémon Quest is Charmander. This is because fire Pokémon aren’t as common as other types in Pokémon Quest. While you can expand your roster of Pokémon as the game progresses (including other starter Pokémon), it’s a bit harder to lure in a wild Charmander.
Additionally, while Charmander has less attack power than Pikachu, Charmander is still a heavy hitter capable of handling a variety of sticky situations. In the end, though, the choice you make is yours alone. If you prefer defensive Pokémon, Bulbasaur is a great choice. Want a cute Pokémon like Squirtle or Eevee? Go for it! There’s no “right” or “wrong” choice when it comes to choosing starter Pokémon in Pokémon quest.
