Skyrim is first non-Nintendo title to support Switch video capture

Wights, Camoran, Akatosh.

Nintendo are opening up the Switch’s video recording to its first third-party game when Skyrim releases on the console this week.

You’ll have to download a small day-one patch for Skyrim to unlock video capture, but after that just hold down the photo button and it’ll start recording.

This makes Skyrim the first non-Nintendo game to implement the new feature added with a recent firmware. Until now the only other games to support video capture are Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, ARMS and Splatoon 2.

Nintendo have said that any game wishing to use the feature simply needs to update the software to enable it, so we should see more patches arriving soon.
