Destiny 2 is a huge game, with wide open worlds full of windings roads and vast tundras to explore. Travelling across these distances on foot can take a long time, which is why it’s important to work toward unlocking a Sparrow in Destiny 2.
For those who are new to the series, a Sparrow is a hovering vehicle that you can summon using your Ghost. These fast and nimble machines make crossing areas a breeze, and will help you get around Patrol zones without having to run everywhere.
How to Get a Sparrow
Unlocking a Sparrow in Destiny 2 is, unfortunately, a time consuming task. Before you get a Sparrow, you will first need to complete the entire story campaign. This time around, the Destiny campaign is chock-full of story, suspense, and action, making it an enjoyable experience.
Because you won’t be receiving a Sparrow until after you complete the campaign, be prepared to run between locations or grab a Pike if one is nearby.
After you finish the main story, you will then need to rank up to Level 20 before you can equip some certain Sparrows. If you arrive at the Social Space and aren’t yet Level 20, simply complete the quest that tasks you with speaking to everyone and you should reach the max level. Once you’re max level, talk with Amanda Holliday to receive your first Sparrow. She will give you a choice of three different models, but they all have the same stats, so it’s purely a cosmetic decision. It’s possible to receive a Sparrow earlier, such as from an enemy drop, Eververse reward, or a Poptart Code, but chances are the first Sparrow you get in Destiny 2 will be after you finish the campaign.
