AMX 50 Foch B
I couldn’t imagine including a Foch in my list of Top anything before Update 9.20 hit the live server. Previously the French Tank Destroyer line was left a bit unloved to say the least, and the community was in almost complete agreement that the Foch 155 was underwhelming. Fortunately, Wargaming recognised this issue and solved it with the AMX 50 Foch B – the 155’s replacement vehicle, and a new incentive to actually bother with the line. On top of this, the Tier 8 and 9 vehicles were provided with a buff.
As can be seen in our most recent Plays of the Week, players have been enjoying the Foch B a lot already, and you can see why. 2400 damage potential within its 6 shell magazine, and a mere 2 seconds delay between shells makes the Foch B’s firepower a force to be reckoned with. I’m not sure it deserves its unofficial title of “Waffentrager auf Foch”, but we’ll see.
The platform also received some adjustments, such as the improved side armor to prevent Overmatch, and the less restricting gun traverse constraints. The platform is still poor, but that’s a good thing in order to keep the excellent firepower in check for game balance reasons.
That finishes up our list of Top Autoloaders in World of Tanks. It was certainly late game heavy, but that’s really where Autoloaders come into their own. Did your favorite make the list, or perhaps not? Which one is it?
