Bigger USB Spaces
This is a hilariously silly feature, but one I just had to include on this list. The PlayStation 4 Pro is an amazingly powerful console, capable of impressive frame rates, HDR, and 4K resolutions – but those damn pesky USB slots on the front of the console are troublesome.
Sunken in, and surrounded by thick, immovable plastic, these USB slots are a massive tease to anyone who doesn’t have an extremely thin USB stick. These are the console’s version of that power plug with a needlessly wide plastic casing that obstructs the power sockets next to it. While it’s not always a problem, there are moments where I go to plug in a USB that is slightly too wide, and am reminded that I need to use a USB extender.
It’s dumb. I know. But if the PS5 could have USB slots that are flush with the edge of the console, that would be great.
There are so many features we’d love to see on the PlayStation 5, but we couldn’t list them all. Here are some honorable mentions for features we think need to be included in the PlayStation 5.
Tougher Security
One of the biggest fails for Sony in the past few years is their seemingly paper-thin security. Not only has the Sony network been hacked, and people’s credit cards potentially compromised, but their own Twitter and Facebook accounts have been attacked. Use some of that money I’m paying for PS Plus to keep my details secure. Be sure to read our tips on how to keep your PSN account safe.
Better Return Policy
In a day and age where I can play something, decide I don’t like it, and return it easily to Steam of all places, it should be just as easy to do the same on PlayStation. I don’t know if I’m going to like this brand-new game, and I don’t want to go down to GameStop to buy it. For some inexplicable reason, you can only return a game on PlayStation if you haven’t started downloading it. Come on, Sony. Get with the times.
What features do you hope are in the PlayStation 5?
