7 Features Gamers Want on the PS5

The PS5 needs these features to become the best console on the market.

Cross-platform Play

This feature is a bit more difficult, but it’s one we know is a possibility. Microsoft and Nintendo have shaken hands and are letting Minecraft players play together, but Sony have decided not to enter that partnership, and for the stupidest of reasons.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Jim Ryan explains the lack of cross-platform, “We're always open to conversations with any developer or publisher who wants to talk about it. Unfortunately it's a commercial discussion between ourselves and other stakeholders” When Wesley Yin-Poole responded with the fact PlayStation Minecraft owners are upset, they want to play with PC, Xbox, and Switch players, Ryan gave a, weak, response.

“Yeah. We've got to be mindful of our responsibility to our install base. Minecraft - the demographic playing that, you know as well as I do, it's all ages but it's also very young. We have a contract with the people who go online with us, that we look after them and they are within the PlayStation curated universe. Exposing what in many cases are children to external influences we have no ability to manage or look after, it's something we have to think about very carefully.”

Sony have blocked cross-platform play for many games, citing these unusual reasons. A developer for ARK, Jeremy Stieglitz, made the comment that they have PS4 and Xbox cross-play working internally, but Sony won’t allow it. Seriously, Sony. For the PS5 I want to be able to play with my friends who are on Xbox One, or PC, or whatever platform they’re on. We’re all gamers here.
