The 7 Most Powerful Tanks Nobody Plays

Find out what hidden gems World of Tanks has to offer.

FV215b

Also in the bottom half of tanks played last month and recently blasphemed by Meathead Militia himself, we have the God-tier FV215b. So, why do many plebeians struggle in the 215b so much? Well, Paul nailed it – it’s a tank with incredible potential but a very high skill floor, and therefore isn’t forgiving at all. Its hull armor is pretty trash, the rear-mounted turret is clunky, and the module damage is rampant with constant fires every game. The last one is the thing that really got to me when I first picked up this tank, as I was often getting burnt twice per game.

Then I finally learned how to play the FV215b, and it quickly became one of my favorite vehicles in the game. Side scraping is absolutely key. The FV215b’s side armor is decent, though it does have a shoulder plate weakness around its turret ring. That’s fine, side scraping is still very important as you hide most of your weak hull armor and force your opponent to aim at a small target. Armor doesn’t always have to block damage to still be effective – by simply forcing you enemy to aim for longer you massively reduce their effective DPM, which is huge in the 215b given your absolutely insane DPM already.

Rear mounted turrets are excellent for minimal exposure, and that’s what the 215b is all about. Not only this, but by forcing shots to go into your side (if at all) you eliminate the risk of fires from your enemy hitting your front-mounted engine and fuel tanks.

Two examples of old frontal fire woes I initially had in the FV215b.

Tip: Use an automatic fire extinguisher at all times, on any tank, especially the 215b. You may think that Premium consumables are too expensive for you, but just do it. Not only do they limit fires to a single game tick, but they also reduce the chance of a fire starting in the first place by 10%, and you’ll only use them up once in a blue moon so the cost isn’t anywhere near, say, running the Premium food consumables. The credits you’ll save by not taking fire damage and having more health to deal more damage later in the game easily makes up for the initial cost.

Combine an automatic extinguisher with the recent introduction of reusable consumables and module damage just really isn’t an issue in the FV anymore. By utilising this knowledge, you should have no issue when it comes to your platform getting in the way of your best-in-class firepower, so get shredding.

That finishes up my list for the 7 Most Powerful Tanks Nobody Plays. Fairly long, but I like to rant – especially when it comes to certain dim-witted militant civilian groups looking for a fight when they dare to insult my glorious British Heavy Tank child that I adore so much. Is there anything that would have made your list that isn’t already on mine?
