The 7 Most Powerful Tanks Nobody Plays

Find out what hidden gems World of Tanks has to offer.

Object 416

One of the least popular Tier 8 Mediums to come across, but arguably the most powerful. If you know anything about high-Tier Russian Mediums you’ll be familiar with how strong their rounded turrets are. Not the 416’s. This vehicle has a whopping 110mm of frontal turret armor across the board that will only bounce anything if you hit extreme angles (which, in all fairness, aren’t too uncommon).

Not only that, but a partially-rotating, rear-mounted turret with only 3 degrees of gun depression makes the Object 416 horrifically clunky to play if you’re not experienced with it. The tank is also really ugly. Okay, that doesn’t have any statistical disadvantages, but you want to look cool while driving tanks, right? Well, this thing looks like a shoe. Maybe a frying pan if it got ammo racked.

So why would you want to play this vehicle? Well one reason, mainly – its gun. You get the typical Tier 9 Soviet Medium 100mm gun with 320 alpha damage, very high DPM, and solid gun handling with 330mm of HEAT penetration… an entire tier below. Simply put, the Object 416 has a massively overpowered gun for its tier, with excellent mobility and camouflage values, on an extremely clunky platform that you have to work out if you want to do well. The tank has a high skill floor and isn’t a Noob Friendly Medium Tank at all, but has amazing potential in the hands of the right player.
