7 Things PS4 Could Learn from Xbox One

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

4K Blu-Ray Drive

Not including a 4K Blu-Ray drive in the PS4 Pro was a sad misstep for Sony, and a lesson they could learn from Microsoft and their Xbox One S. Yes, the PS4 Pro does have a Blu-Ray drive, but it's not the latest and greatest UHD BD, and isn't that what the PlayStation 4 Pro is supposed to be, the "latest and greatest"?

4K is quickly becoming common place, especially now that 4K TV prices are starting to drop. I mean, look at the ridiculous prices on offer during Amazon's Prime Day Deals. People are switching to 4K, and unfortunately, the PS4 Pro isn't going to be able to take advantage of it with its physical drive.

Sure, the option to steam content and download content is there, and with physical media being overtaken by the digital realm, it makes sense to make the switch. But remember the uproar when Microsoft wanted to go digital-only with the Xbox One? The internet was spitting blood.

However, there are other problems with a purely digital world. So long as we continue to have the limitation of harddrive spaces (Sony keeps including small harddrives in their consoles), digital content just doesn't have a leg to stand on. A 500GB harddrive gets filled up extremely quickly, and even 1TB drives are looking small these days, especially when you consider the size of a 4K file. Then there’s the problem of people who don’t have the internet speeds to download a 60GB game and those who don’t have the quota to do so.

If people want a 4K Blu-Ray, they'll buy it. So take a page out of Xbox One's book, Sony, and throw it in!
