Top 10 Glass Cannons in World of Tanks

Hit them first, and hit them hard. Very hard.

Tier 10

Grille 15

Yeah, you probably guessed it, the Grille makes the list. While somewhat repetitive, the Grille 15 line consists of the most name-defining glass cannons in this game and the Tier 10 is certainly no exception. With best-in-game dispersion, and joint best-in-game aim time above Tier 5, the Grille makes use of its 750 alpha damage to pinpoint its foes like no other. Unlike its predecessors, its mobility is fantastic with a top speed of 60 km/h and a power-to-weight ratio of over 21 hp/t, more comparable to Mediums than a Tank Destroyer.

All of this comes at a cost, however. Its recently nerfed DPM sits at 2600 which, while not dreadful, is a step back from the Tier 9 and a shadow of its former glory at over 2800. The armor is also traditionally non-existent, and while the straight-forward mobility is excellent, its hull traverse speed is poor. Finally, the gun handling soft stats are abysmal meaning you really need to utilise the excellent aim time to consistently put in your shots.

FV4005

‘The Barn’, ‘The Doghouse’, ‘Death Star II’, the FV4005. It has many names, some less kind and more explicit, but it certainly takes the cake for number 1 Glass Cannon in World of Tanks. When firing HESH ammunition you’re capable of dealing 1750 damage upon a penetrating shot, and that’s entirely possible against even many Mediums and Heavies when utilising the Premium HESH for increased penetration.

That being said, you don’t even need to penetrate the target to splash them for upwards of 700 or so damage with the tank’s huge alpha. Alternatively, if you want more consistent results, then its 310 penetration AP rounds have an average damage of 1150.

Sure, you can’t do much in the way of hide, or bounce shells with your 14mm thick turret (no, that’s not a typo), or even hit enemies most of the time, but who needs any of that when you can delete anything from full health Tier 9 Medium Tanks to planets like Alderaan. The FV4005 is certainly a symbol of the Empire’s peaceful nature.

That concludes this list of World of Tank’s most defined Glass Cannons.
