Highest Win Rate Tanks from July – Tier 9
Approaching the tier cap we have Tier 9, where the armor focus is maintained, albeit with an interesting twist.
Emil II
A newer release takes third place with a 53.17% win rate. The Tier 9 Swedish Heavy Tank is, for all intents and purposes, just a bad AMX 50 120 when out in the open, with vastly inferior firing parameters and mobility. So why would you want to play it, and why does it rank so highly? Well, the trick is to not sit out in the open.
When hull down the Emil II is borderline unbeatable. The frontal turret armor is impenetrable to all but certain premium rounds from Tier 10 Tank Destroyers, and when utilising all 12 degrees of its gun depression even the Jagdpanzer E 100’s HEAT round with a best-in-game penetration value of 420mm can kiss sweet goodbye to its chances of doing anything more than leaving a scuff mark on your paint.
Combine this with a 400 alpha damage, 4 shell autoloading 120mm main armament and you have yourself a force to be reckoned with. Just don’t get caught in the open between your long clip reloads. Thankfully, it's one of the fastest tanks in the game, so you should have no trouble getting back behind cover to reload.
T95
The renowned Doom Turtle. Testament to its nick name, the T95 is a very slow, very heavily armored tank destroyer packing a 750 alpha damage 155mm main armament with an impressive 276mm of penetration on its standard rounds. Likely somewhat due to its fearsome, if not somewhat humorous, appearance and niche characteristics the T95 has been a fan favorite for as long as its been in the game.
Recently, however, it received a buff to its mobility, namely increasing its top speed from a lowly 13 km/h to a not-quite-as-bad 20 km/h, seemingly giving the Doom Turtle the edge it needed to become one of the highest win rate Tier 9’s on the NA server at a 53.25% win rate, slightly lower compared to last month but impressive nonetheless.
WZ-111 1-4
Another personal favorite of mine, the WZ-111 1-4 takes first place with a win rate of 54.60%, slightly improving since last month. The tank has always been excellent with a massive 490 alpha damage, impressive 2190 DPM, sufficient penetration standard rounds at 244 penetration or excellent HEAT rounds at 340mm of penetration, decent gun handling for a 130mm gun, excellent turret armor, excellent mobility – it just checks all the right boxes.
The probable reason for its recent increase in activity, however, is the release of the new Tier 10 Chinese Heavy Tank the WZ-111 5A, only obtainable through the 1-4. If your goal is the WZ-111 5A, then you’ll be pleased to know the WZ-111 1-4 isn’t a weak link in the grind by any means.
