IS-7
The IS series of tanks is what makes the USSR Heavy tank lines one of the best in World of tanks. These vehicles are incredibly approachable, offer excellent armor, great firepower, and a myriad of other benefits. However, one of the surprising advantages of the IS-7, especially given its armor, is its top speed of 59.6km/h.
This speed, much like a few other tanks on this list, rivals some Medium tanks, allowing the IS-7 to get into excellent positions that a Heavy tank might otherwise not be able to reach. While it doesn’t have the armor of its cousin, the IS-4, the IS-7 is far more responsive.
Kranvagn
The Swedish cement their position as a Heavy tank power player with their Kranvagn, a Heavy tank that caps off an excellent HT line. The Kranvagn is able to reach a blistering top speed of 60km/h, making it an menace for opponents not expecting to see a Heavy tank so early in a match.
This speed allows the Kranvagn to get into a strong position, while its outrageous armor ensures it can keep it. The turret armor alone clocks in at 225 mm thick on its front, allowing it to easily take a hull down position and keep the enemy at bay.
AMX 50 B
Though much like its predecessor, the AMX 50 120, the AMX 50 B takes what the 120 did and improves upon it by increasing its mobility. With a top speed of 65km/h, the AMX 50 B matches its older version, but thanks to an engine with 1,200 horsepower, the AMX 50 B is able to feel more responsive.
The entire French Heavy tank line, starting at Tier 8, benefits from auto-loading main guns, making them vicious opponents on the battlefield. With a penetration value of 257 mm, the AMX 50 B’s main gun can easily shred through an opponent’s armor, and with 400 points of alpha damage, they will quickly get knocked out of the battle.
Due to its high speeds and its 62 tonne weight, the AMX 50 B makes for one of the best tanks for ramming in World of Tanks.
