5 Tanks with Outrageously Fast Reverse Speeds

Going backwards can be just as important as going forwards.

Crusader 5.5-inch SP

Concluding our list of tanks with outrageously fast reverse speeds is the Crusader 5.5-inch SP. While this tank doesn’t offer the fastest reverse speed, it boasts one of the greatest differences between forward and backward top speeds.

The Crusader is a Tier 7 British SPG, often finding itself sitting in the back corners of the map. Able to wield the B.L. 5.5-inch Gun, the Crusader can slam enemy vehicles for an average of 600 alpha damage. This gun is able to hit enemies at a range of 1,300m while also boasting an impressive gun arc and aim time.

Interestingly, much like the Archer, the Crusader is able to move backwards faster than it can move forwards. This is due to the way the main gun is mounted on the hull – backwards. Though, instead of reversing the controls or spawning you in backwards, in order to gain any speed and move around the battlefield, the Crusader needs to turn around and reverse. While it’s reversing, the Crusader can reach a whopping 43km/h. However, if you choose to travel forward, you'll be treated with a top speed of 14 km/h.

You may not see these tank names in battle very often, nor are they touted as some of the best vehicles in the game. That doesn’t matter though, because these vehicles offer one of the most unique attributes in World of Tanks – a reverse speed that puts other tanks’ forward speed to shame. If you want to go fast backwards, pick up one of these vehicles!
