9 Tips to Get Better at Battlefield 1

Follow these tips to improve your skills and become a better player in Battlefield 1.

Pick Up Elite Classes

Multiplayer matches in Battlefield 1 feature various class kits known as Elite Classes. These are unique character classes that are only available as pickups during battle. Elite Classes equip players with powerful loadouts that include heavy firepower and armor improvements. Players using an Elite Class kit are very difficult to defeat, as they can withstand a beating while dishing out significant damage of their own.

Battlefield 1 currently contains four Elite Classes: Sentry, Tank Hunter, Flame Trooper, and Trench Raider, the latter of which was added as part of Battlefield 1’s “They Shall Not Pass” DLC. Here’s a quick rundown of what each Elite Class does in Battlefield 1.

  • Sentry - Equipped with thick armor plating, the Sentry class is practically a walking armored car. This class comes with a hip-fired machine gun that allows these players to mow down or suppress opponents in combat. While the Sentry class can withstand a lot of damage, keep in mind that this class doesn’t come with a gas mask, making this class very vulnerable to well-tossed gas grenades.
  • Tank Hunter - The Tank Hunter Elite Class wields the powerful 1918 Tankgewer anti-tank rifle, along with a sawed-off shotgun and a few anti-tank grenades. This Elite Class is meant for crippling armored opponents and vehicles, so be sure to target any armored cars, tanks, and vehicles if you happen to pick up the Tank Hunter class during battle.
  • Flame Trooper - Arguably the most badass of the Elite Classes in Battlefield 1, the Flame Trooper class wields a powerful flamethrower and is immune to all incendiary weapon effects. Use this class to satisfy your inner pyromaniac during multiplayer battles.
  • Trench Raider - The Trench Raider is a new Elite Class that comes as a part of They Shall Not Pass. Trench Raiders utilize a powerful Raider Club that can shred through armor and take down infantry very easily. Trench Raiders are intended for close-range trench warfare, and are thus equipped with a Medical Crate and some additional grenades to support their teammates in close-quarters encounters.
