7 Games We Want Hacked Onto the SNES Classic

These games aren’t included on the SNES Classic, so we want them hacked on.

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs

Not just an internet meme, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs was another success from the fabled game-developer team at Rare. Set in a virtual world, the beat ‘em up style of Battletoads had players take on the role of either Rash or Pimple as they fight through hundreds of monsters.

To keep things fresh, each level in Battletoads in Battlemaniacs had a different theme. For instance, while the first level was a side-scrolling beat ‘em up (the style the game is known for) the fifth level is entirely a racer. This allowed Rare to include various gameplay themes and mechanics in the game while ensuring the player was always challenged and learning something new.

Speaking of challenge, what most people will know Battletoads for is its sheer difficulty. The racing levels in particular required memorization of the course in order to complete successfully. These were renowned for their controller-shattering difficulty. Looks like we need to get a hacked SNES because Battletoads in Battlemaniacs isn’t included on the Classic.
