The benefit to using a Crossbow in Ghost Recon Wildlands Fallen Ghosts is obviously stealth, and the fact that killing AI with a Crossbow is just fun. While players will get their hands on the Phobos Crossbow very early in the Fallen Ghosts DLC, the Deimos Crossbow is the one you want.

Unfortunately, unlocking the Deimos Crossbow requires that you complete a main story mission called Hide and Seek. During this quest, you must track down and deal with Major Luis Rocha. Major Rocha will eventually flee into the mountains, using his Optical Camouflage to hide from the Ghosts. To counter this, use thermal vision, following Major Rocha’s footprints into the hills.

Using either the M4A1 Assault Rifle, or the R4 Assault Rifle, follow Luis Rocha, killing any of this minions along the way. It won’t be long before you find your target, and after things are handled, the Deimos Crossbow will be yours.

Now that you've learned how to get the Deimos Crossbow in Ghost Recon Wildlands, you're free to infiltrate enemy camps and use stealth to clear them out. Sure, there are many other weapons in the game that will allow you to do this already, but come on, killing people with a Crossbow is as fun as it gets.
